Lannea grandis/coromondelica (Ji-ol in Bengali) a member of
Anacardiaeae. Rural poor people eat young leaves of this plant with
rice. Wood used for packing cases and preparing furnitures for rural
people. Most remarkable about the plant is if the bark is injured , it
exudes gum of good quality. In our childhood we used this gum only, it
is ( was)also used in printing industry, I vaguely remember its bark
became sometimes covered with growing larvae of some butterfly.
