Kindly identify this spiny bush with pink flowers photographed at the Arunachala Reserve Forest, Tiruvannamalei, Tamil Nadu in September 2014.

Flowers about 3 cm wide.
White spines in pairs, about 1-2 cm long each.

I think it should be Barleria mysorensis B.Heyne ex Roth rather than Barleria buxifolia L. as per images and details herein.

For me the ID by Garg ji is correct.   Of course  the ID  is always confusing .
