Please check with Passiflora mollisima.. common wild edible  in the Nilgiris.

Indeed, Banana Passion Flower ( Passiflora tripartita var. mollissima)
Synonym: Passiflora mollissima
The fruit looks just like a hanging banana:

Yes, this climber is Passiflora mollissima (H. B. K.) Bailey of Passifloraceae.
Native of Tropical America.
