On the last photograph -
Road kill - Chameleon  this time

(While we were photographing this plant, we noticed a chameleon half dead in road accident. Before we arrived another high speed vehicle silenced this lizard. My fellow nature photographers  post chameleon sightings regularly and this species was in my wish list from many years. Its really sad, I have to see many of the species in my wish list in road kills. Here in Chamundi hill forests even fully grown leopards are not spared from speeding vehicles. In forests we should respect all living creatures and let them live.

Pls check this link for more road kill encounters
.

A death statistics that would have been ignored by the Traffic Department...... After all, isn't man the only supreme being ???
Let's hear it from Shakespeare who said: O judgement, thou hast fled to bruitish beasts! (Oh God..., you are in favour of brutal killers) & Albert Einstein "Our Task must be to widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" Live and let live..

Many thanks for the Id help -
Kalanchoe delagoensis (
mother-of-millions )

Here is a brief summary on  this ill-famed  plant.

Kalanchoe
delagoensis (mother-of-millions ) is  invasive weed,
succulent plant native to Madagascar,
displaces native plants,
Class 2 pest plant under the Land Protection,
contains bufadienolide cardiac glycosides which can cause cardiacpoisoning, particularly in grazing animals. During 1997, 125 head of cattle died after eating mother-of-millions

All parts of plant are poisonous if ingested.

Certainly an unwelcome guest to Chamundi forest hills.

Regards
Raghu
