Please help with ID of this tree perhaps Peltophorum? photographed from Bageshwar Uttarakhand, 15-4-2012.

Lighter flower colour and more importantly lack of ferruginous sepals creating doubts.

The Mysore thorn (Biancaea decapetala ) is  a thorny shrub.  But you  have mentioned it as a tree.  Which is correct . Is it a tree or shrub.  Does it have spines or not.  Please clarify.

It's not Phelophorum sp.
I agree with Biancaea decapetala.

Thanks a lot Radha ji, Radha ji and Paradesi ji for solving this mystery for me. Yes it is a shrub as I can make out from all images. Here is one thorny twig.
