Hi,

From my records over the last few years, Woodfordia fruiticosa flowers like clockwork [at my farm at Shahapur] only in March every year. This year it flowered in the first week of February and is flowering even today. It is a favourite of many birds. Sending a few photographs [the last three are taken by my friend Jayesh Timbadia].

                  With regards,

                    Neil Soares.

Thanks a lot Dinesh Ji and Pravin Ji for detailing this plant.

We have been trying to propagate this plant for our garden here in Bhopal and haven't had any success with stem cuttings till date.

We have recently prepared the dried up fruits for germination and eagerly await the results.

regards,

rakesh

Dear Neil,

Nice to have a farm habitat with such flowering plants and trees and successfully be able to attract such lovely and rare birds. The presence of Yellow eyed babbler, oriental white eye makes me visualize your farm to be quite dense, natural rich in flora and fauna.

I will contact you when I have my dream eco-farm adjacent to forest streams covered by well wooded & indigenous trees :)

Thanks
Raghu
