Tree for id 270110MK1

Hi members,

Sorry for the occasional intervals. I was in the middle of forests for a quite few days, so could not interact properly.

And kindly help to id the common tree found at an elevation of 950 msl in Satyamangalam forests on 21 Jan 2010.

For me this appears to belong to Meliaceae.

 Possibly some sort of Ligustrum species (Oleaceae)? Opposite leaves, terminal infloresence are typical of the genus.

I too feel that this could be Ligustrum perrottetii. Have a look at

Leaves opposite. Corolla funnel shaped, lobes not overlapping,
inflorescence terminal, stamens 2.

I think it may be Ligustrum gamblei Ramamoorthy due to leaf size, shape and apex as per differences given in their descriptions at Biotik 1 (Ligustrum gamblei Ramamoorthy) and Biotik 2 (Ligustrum perrottetii A. DC).
