Dear Friends,

I had shared this earlier but reposting this as a part of ongoing C & G week. Based on  inputs received, this could be some sp. of Canscora.  As per Navendu ji, this could turn out to  be some new sp. of Canscora. In absence of any specimen with me, its bit difficult to conclude. Nevertheless, i thought of sharing this once again..
This small herb was spotted at the top of Doraikatte Hill (near Motigudda), Karnataka. Herb was hardly 3cm in height, flower single, hardly 4 to 6mm across, pinkish coloured.

Date/Time: 19-01-2011 / 10:20AM
Location: Doraikatte Hill (near Motigudda village), Karnataka
Habitat: Wild
Plant Habit: Herb

regards
Prashant

I find it close to images at Canscorinella bhatiana (K.S. Prasad & Raveendran) Shahina & Nampy & as per Shahina PM, Santhosh Nampy. 2014. A taxonomic revision of the genus Canscora in South India, and the erection of the new genus Canscorinella (Canscorinae, Gentianaceae) with two new combinations." Phytotaxa 164(4): 201–225. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/phytotaxa.164.4.1.
Can it be a young plant ?
Pl. give your views.
