Dear Saroj Ji and all,

I would not go with Persicaria chinensis (L.) H. Gross because of the presence of hairy ocrea in the posted images.

To me, your plant is close to two Persicaria species:

Persicaria microcephala (D.Don) H.Gross and Persicaria greuteriana Galasso (nom. nov., Persicaria wallichii Meisn.).

However, Galasso himself has written that P. greuteriana could be considered a variation of P. microcephala, probably because of their morphological and distribution similarity.

But the ciliate leaf margin in your plant is an intriguing character and is not visible in the herbarium images of any of the above-mentioned species. I wish someone checks the molecular variations and digs deeper into this. You may also go through the specimens carefully.

Catalogue of life mentions Persicaria greuteriana Galasso with Polygonum wallichii Meisn. as a syn. with distribution in Himalayas.

Flora of China mentions Polygonum wallichii Meisner syn. Persicaria microcephala (D. Don) H. Gross var. wallichii (Meisner) H. Hara with leaf blade broadly cordate or ovate-cordate, 3-5 × 2-3.5 cm, abaxially sparsely strigose, adaxially subglabrous, base subcordate, margin entire, shortly ciliate, apex acuminate.

So it may be Persicaria greuteriana Galasso.
