Dinesh ji,

These molecular studies are now jeopardizing the entire system though everything  in this emerging field is hypothetical!  Often they ignore good morphological differences and merge the genera and even families or vice versa.
I am getting the current name as follows.
Regards,
Tapas.
Combretum malabaricum (Bedd.) Sujana, Ratheesh & Anil Kumar in J. Bot. Res. Inst. Texas 6: 453. 2012.

Thanks very much Tapas ji for throwing light on changes that occur in the accepted names of the plants due to newer studies. I have made a note of this point.

A reply from another thread:
While attempting to identify this Quisqualis, came to find earlier plant sighted at Yana as Quisqualis malabaricaPrashant's in 2011, and mine in 2012, turns out to be a new species Combretum shivannae Gholave, Kambale, Lekhak & S. R. Yadav as published in KEW BULLETIN (2015) 70:33
