Yes you are correct, the leaves are aromatic and used get flavor in ghee.

To me this appears close to Lalithamba ji's images at Premna odorata Blanco

It is commonly available in the scrub jungle and deciduous forests, no doubt in its identity.

If it is so, than images at Premna tomentosa are not properly identified.
