Clicked in Badlapur today in a neighbour's compound. He got it from Goa.
I had seen it earlier as well in Phansad WLS - forest Rest-house compound.


Is it some garden flower ? Common English name pl.

Marathi name ...Im told is "Draupadi chi Veni" !

.. yes, garden plant ... lobster claw ( Heliconia rostrata ) ... native to equatorial S America.
And many thanks for that wonderful name in Marathi.

It's Heliconia rostrata only & not Bird of paradise (i.e. Strelitzia reginae).
