ID please

Large tree rooted in river (Cauvery) ... please validate if Vitex pubescens OR else.
Please note, attached photos include those of fallen flowers.

Date/Time : March 31, 2011 at 10.56am IST
Location Place : on river Cauvery near Dubare Elephant Camp, Karnataka ... 12.370836, 75.904663 on Google maps
Altitude : 2783 ft (above mean sea level)

Yes, V. leucoxylon L. f. typically growing along rivers and streams. I
do not know about V. pubescens. Regards, Shrikant

Many many thanks to Shrikant ji for setting right the ID to Vitex leucoxylon.

Mine was a sheer guess of Vitex pubescens which resulted from a search for Vitex arborea.
