Pradip Krishen in his book Trees of Delhi calls Madhuca indica as syn. of Madhuca longifolia var. latifolia (Mahua) (with oval leaves with pointy tip) & other one as Madhuca longifolia var. longifolia (Southern Mahua) (with mango like leaves).
