Hi,
    Madhuka indica leaves have short petiole and Madhuka logifolia has long.

Sh. Pradip Krishen in his book Trees of Delhi calls Madhuca indica as syn. of Madhuca longifolia var. latifolia (Mahua) (with oval leaves with pointy tip) & other one as Madhuca longifolia var. longifolia (Southern Mahua) (with mango like leaves).
