Hello friends, calling especially Kanarese knowing friends to provide help.

I am trying to gather names of Hymenodictyon orixense (popular synonym: Hymenodictyon excelsum) in Kannada
commonly known as: bridal couch plant, mountain sage (doubt whether these names are popular in India).

Photos at http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Hymenodictyon%20orixense&w=91314344%40N00

Names put at various internet sites include following:
bataga, battaga, battaga, betaga, bindaru, botaga, bundaru, dalli mara, dhodi mara, diddimara, dodda thoppe mara, doddi, dolimara, dolli, ganadla mara, gandala, gandele

Not able to make out what makes sense among:
1) bataga, battaga, battaga, betaga, botaga
2) bindaru, bundaru
3) dalli mara, ¿ (ಡೊಲಿ ಮರ, ದೋಲಿ ಮರ) ? dolimara, dolli
4) dhodi mara, ¿ ದಿಡ್ಡಿ ಮರ ? diddimara, doddi
5) dodda thoppe mara
6) ganadla mara, gandala, gandele

Regards.

... just struck my mind that the timber is used for ... the yokes of carts and ploughs, scabbards, palanquins, toys and many other purposes for which a soft wood is useful ...
... quoted from Forest Flora of Hyderabad State - by M Sharfuddin Khan

Thus fits *bridal couch* with *palanquin* and words in (3) & (4) of:

1) bataga, battaga, battaga, betaga, botaga
2) bindaru, bundaru
3) dalli mara, ¿ (ಡೊಲಿ ಮರ, ದೋಲಿ ಮರ) ? dolimara, dolli
4) dhodi mara, ¿ ದಿಡ್ಡಿ ಮರ ? diddimara, doddi

5) dodda thoppe mara
6) ganadla mara, gandala, gandele

relate to palanquin and other wood uses ... are resolved to ದಿಡ್ಡಿ ಮರ diddi mara, ದೊಡ್ಡಿ ಮರ doddi mara, ಡೊಲಿ ಮರ doli mara

Regards.
