eFloraofIndia website- database of Plants of Indian Subcontinent- developed by the members of this eFloraofIndia Google group

eFloraofIndia (initially Indiantreepix) (eFI in short form and eFlora of India in expanded form) is the largest Google e-group in the world in this field & largest nature related (and the most constructive with more than 3300 members & more than 4,00,000 messages on 26/9/21) in India devoted to creating awareness, helping in identification etc. along with discussion & documentation of Indian Flora. It has already completed 17 years of service on 17.6.24.

One can visit & join ‘eFloraofIndia’ by clicking at eFloraofIndia google-group & then clicking on 'Sign in' & then 'Sign up' on next page OR by sending an e-mail request to <itpmods@googlegroups.com>. One should also mention his/ her full name, occupation (optionally: qualification, professional attachments etc.) and place & why he/ she wants to become a member?

Pl. follow 'Posting guidelines' while posting on the group. Members are requested to post more identified pictures of the species (no restriction of formats etc.) including those which has not been posted so far.

eFloraofIndia (eFI in short) website helps in documenting flora of India that is being discussed on ‘eFloraofIndia’ e-group along with supplementing the working of the group. A species database has been created here family wise & then followed genus wise. Intent of this database is compilation of all the posts on 'eFloraofindia' e- group so that it’s useful to all concerned as all the data about a particular species will be available under a single head & easily searchable. It has the largest database on net on Indian Flora with details of more than 14,000 species of seed plants, ferns, fungi & others (and with more than 4,00,000 pictures at eFloraofIndia e-group links). More than 3,00,000 unique images have already been displayed in efi site.

Original text contents of eFloraofIndia come under Cc-by license (Licensees may copy, distribute, display and perform the work and make derivative works based on it only if they give the author or licensor the credits in the manner specified by these). However, permission of the owner has to be taken for use of any other material available at this website or eFloraofIndia e-group.

However, eFloraofIndia group or eFloraofIndia website will in no way be responsible for any misuse. Issue has to be sorted out by the owner directly with concerned person/ institution etc. If any of the eFloraofIndia e-group members, doesn't want his/ her posted pictures, materials, observations etc. to be incorporated on eFloraofIndia website, he/ she may withdraw from the eFloraofIndia group immediately or refrain from sharing such copyrighted pictures, contents etc. with the group. Once any material is posted by a member, it can't be withdrawn/ deleted/ removed from the e-group or the site, even if the member leaves or is banned from the group, for what so ever reason.
