  Looks like the fruit of the Yellow Silk Cotton tree [Cochlospermum religiosum]. Mine are also fruiting now.

Cochlospermum religiosum
It is flowering in Pune too. Soon the mature fruits will open and the hairy seeds will be spread all over in the surroundings....
