Hello friends,
Is Lagerstroemia speciosa native to India ? Any information where found in the wild ?
This query because, I have always found it planted in gardens or along roads and avenues.

FOS does mention it to be found occasionally growing wild along river-banks in Konkan.

Regards.

Thanks very much, Madhuri ji. I am happy to know that this plant does grow wild in India - as Garg ji pointed out ... the ulterior motive of querying, you see is: if the flower has status of being one of official symbols of the state of Maharashtra, I just wanted to convince myself that the plant indeed grows wild, for sure, in Maharashtra.

Thanks once again, and regards.
