A garden for Blind

Hallo,

 

as i was in pune last year, I talked to some people about starting a garden for blind in Pune. In Bremen there is one such garden. You can see some fotos at the end of this mail or here >>

The people I talked to found that idea good and had promised to help me.

I talked to Mr. Yashwant Khaire yashwan...@yahoo.com who was one of the garden authorities. He wrote to me, that he was to retire soon. and he gave me the conract of Mr.  Bhanudas Mane bm...@punecorporation.org. I wrote to Mr. Bhanudas Mane, did not get a replay though. The other people I talked to, are interested in helping get this garden installed.

Today i got the following mail:

dear Nalini Mam,
I came to Know form Dr. Pra. Ke. Ghanekar (a well Known botanist
andtracking lover for visiting various forts.) that Empress garden has
access land which has been acquired from Govt. If the do not utilize
for the proper purpose they may have to return the land to Govt.

      but they can survive their land with theme garden suc as aroma
garden or we may call sensational garden for Blind. If you have some
contacts with them or if Mr. Sadanand or other can initiate the talk,
I will also join the mission. Pls. let me know if you have some
contacts with them. or I will meet them.

Dr. Sharayu works in the Ayurved Hospital in Pune. We had suggested, to plan a gerden which has some objects, that can be touched ans also Flowers / Leaves that have fragrance. In this group there are many knowlegeable People, who can help us select the proper plants.

But befote that I am looking for influencial people from Pune, who have good contacts with Mr. Mane or the garden department so that this idea of a blindgarden can be taken forward.

 

Please do write to me, about what can be done in this respect.

 

I am sorry, i am not so active at present in the group. I hope to get moretime in the new year.

They have many years of experience in ecorestoration and have worked closely with PMC, PCMC and Garden Department of Pune.
