ILDIS does not gives its distribution in India: http://www.legumes-online.net/ildis/aweb/td074/td_15703.htm
So may be some other species.

A reply from Chris Chadwell ji:
"As to the suggestion of A.agrestis - this species is not recorded for Ladakh, indeed Stewart (an American) does not
list it within his 'Annotated Catalogue' covering Pakistan & Kashmir - I am sure he would have mentioned it as this is
a native of N.America (and E.Asia, whatever that means).

So we can eliminate this possibility.  Will slowly work on it - need to check it is an Astragalus, rather than an
Oxytropis?"

Saroj ji
I hope we have discussed it earlier also. No need to continue with doubtful identifications. Fortunately and unfortunately whenever we search any name through Google search, Efloraofindia website and threads feature prominently in search Engine, and it can be very confusing for user if a wrongly identified or tentatively identified image appears in image search. It would be as such more appropriate if we don't suggest any specific name unless we are reasonably sure about it. In this case I could not find any record of A. agrestis from J & K or Ladakh, especially so Nubra Valley.
And since we are discussing repeated posts, we are lucky to have high resolution images contributed by you to enrich our database. I have noticed you uploading a new plant in 6-8 posts, whereas same can be uploaded in just 2-3 posts, since your images are mostly 6-8 mb each and email attachment allows up to 25 mb in each post.

Thanks, Saroj ji and Singh ji.
Let us continue with whatever feedback we receive, as many times we get feedback.
It is mainly from you, Pardesi ji, Singh ji, myself and a few other members and sometimes experts if enough details are there.
To clarify, the maximum attachment size is only 8 MB so Saroj ji has to mail them one by one.

Dear Saroj Kasaju,
Thanks for your mail. Astragalus is the largest genus in angiosperm. It is difficult to identify the species with photographs.  However, it seems your plants  belong to Astragalus strictus Grah. ex Benth. It will be better if you add your affiliation /identification in your mail.
Thanks!
