I took this flower picture during Nature camp to the Nilgiri Biosphere
Reserve –also Avalanche- Kunda Forest Reserve-

In Malayalam it is known as Kadhali chedi , fruits are edible and will give purple color to tongue.

I think the plant is Osbeckia octandra DC. from the family Melastomaceae.

 No problem. Osbeckia is a new one for me; I had to look it up. There are quite a few rather similar, showy Melastomaceae.
