This small herb reaching up to 40cm was photographed in June near Jageshwar (1800m) in Kumaon, Uttarakhand. The plant was seen in open areas like along road, trails, open grounds etc. Leaves are all basal forming rosette and few stems originating from the rosette are leafless and branched upward bearing heads.

Please suggest the ID.

I also do have a similar plant recorded from Darjeeling, not yet posted I think..
I hope you have tried to see Launaea species, which is the only thing coming to my mind..
Thanks Rawat Ji for this post, which will surely help me.

There is apparent similarity but I have doubts. L.aspenifolia is a low elevation species.  The plant for ID was recorded at about 1800- 2200m.
