Many many thanks Saroj ji for helping with Nepali names for this plant.
A naive query, I could be totally wrong, is चाँदे = Chaande ?
Regards.

Saroj ji, if you are meaning to ask about basis of Celosia argentea L. and Celosia cristata L. being treated as separate / distinct species, I am referring to the following:

  1. Robertson, K.R. (2003) Celosia L. In: Flora of North America Editorial Committee (eds.) Flora of North America north of Mexico 4. Oxford University Press, New York & Oxford, pp. 406–407. Accessed [11:54 24-11-2025 (DD-MM-YYYY)]
  2. Iamonico, Duilio. (2013). About the circumscription of Celosia argentea (Amaranthaceae) and the related Linnaean taxa. Phytotaxa. 90. 61-64. 10.11646/phytotaxa.90.1.3.

I also feel there should be differences based on flowers. But according to POWO all are argentea and
as per Mr. Garg we follow POWO.

Thank you.

Okay Saroj ji, thank you very much.
It is best that Garg ji, Tabish, and all those familiar with Celosia spp. put forth their thoughts to resolve the distinction between Celosia argentea L. and Celosia cristata L.
Regards.
