I am posting herewith a few photographs of Punica granatum.  Photographed in Mysore  sometime    during  2021 .  Please confirm this ID.   It is a common  shrub / tree here in house gardens.

Dear Mahadeswara ji,

Was delighted to know that pomegranate is as popular in Mysore as it is in the suburbs of  Srinagar. It is called Daen in Kashmiri and  Danposh (Pomegranate flower) is the surname of a well known family here and is also mentioned in poetic compositions.As in Mysore people like to plant pomegranate trees near their houses especially in suburbs and villages.

The Bollywood film " Mughal e Azam" has made the Urdu/Hindi name of the pomegranate blossom "Anarkali" a household name throughout India.
