Attaching pictures of Bark, Tree, Flower, Fruit etc. mostly at Garden Reach, Kolkata. It's bark is unmistakable with vertical lines of green or buff. It has trifoliate Bael-like leaves. It has black conical spines on stem & branches. When it blooms in March-April, it's a feast time for birds like Parakeets, Mynas, Starlings etc. for its nectar, buds etc. It's flower appear when it is completely leafless (as a difference fron similar looking Dhaul Dhak- Erythrina suberosa). It can be seen almost everywhere in Kolkata. Flower of Var.alba taken at Agri-horticulture Society at Alipore, Kolkata.

Hello evergreen,
Since that exhibition day at "Cal. Inf.Cent". I became a real fan of
ur photos on nature. I never found any nature lover like u .
Your photographs on Erythrina indica ( Family- Fabaceae Sub-Family-
Papilionoideae) are excellent. The drinking parrot on red nectary
flowers is wonder ful.
In bengali it is also locally known as------ 1. Palita Mother. 2.
Faurot.
