A small  tree in the University campus trees in good number, seems to be cultivated.
leaves glossy .-sweet smelling flowers.
Tree flowers profusely at the end of each branch.

Could this be a Hymenosporum flavum

native of Queensland?

Did these flowers open white and then turn yellow with reddish
centres...??

 You were close. It is native Frangipani.-
 Hymenosporum flavum. F-Pittosporaceae.
