This plant belongs to my garden. I had collected the seeds from Muradi, Harnai,Tal.Dapoli.Ratnagiri.
Totally white in colour. Yet didn't see the stamens curiously. Small bushy plant not more than 10 ft.

Yes it is B. acuminata, it flowers many a times in Delhi, in flushes.

One question: Will Bauhinia have a bilobed stigma?

Arvind, do you have a picture with leaves? That will set all doubts at
rest.

Bauhinia acuminata is quite possible but hard to confirm without the picture of the leaves

Here are some close ups of stigma of B. acuminata from Delhi for comparison. I must say they look different. What looks strange to me in flower above by Arvind ji  is its being  erect and not inclined as usually seen in Bauhinia.

Just wanted to say that when I was putting up my question, it was for
Dinesh sir's mail, and when I posted, your mail appeared :))....almost
same timing....
But this is interesting. Thanks for sharing the pics. Dinesh sir's
article has the details which says it can have bilobed stigma.
Regards
Pankaj
