On 11/4/09 at Samirpet near Hyderabad, A.P. I saw the birds like Koel feeding on the fruits. It was a smallish tree.

to me, it looks like Ixora parviflora from Rubiaceae family

Not sure. Kurum is known as Bijra, Kukkur jam and Gulvel locally. The natives use it for mad dog bite.

It appears like it but I am not very sure.

it is Ixora parviflora, a small tree from family rubiaceae
flowering in summer.

  Resurfacing the old thread. Please confirm my plant Kurum and your plant are same? Are both Ixora parviflora??
