Local gardner calls it amla/Aawla in Marathi


Date/Time-Sep 2011


Location- Place, Altitude, GPS-Pune


Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type-Garden /wild


Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb- Shrub


Height/Length- About 5 .5 ft


Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size-green


No flowers /fruits seen

This could be the smaller aawla (Phyllanthus acidus or Cicca acida) available and not the actual aawla (which is Phyllanthus emblica)

Yes Phyllanthus acidus.

Common name- Star gooseberry /West India gooseberry.
In hindi we call it- चिल्लीमिल्ली( chillimili )
