Boswellia Serrata: SALAI or SALLAKI or SHALLAKI in Marathi.It's a
typical deciduous tree. During winter the tree is virtually leafless
and the flowers start appearing in feb-mar directly without any
leaves. Flowers are small 8mm creamy white in axillary racemes.Leaves
start appearing in summer : compound;20 to 30 leaflets on either side
which are crenate or serrate::::::(....serrata).Sallaki gum is a
useful source of ayurvedic medicines.
