Location- Place, altitude and GPS:


Katnal Villages, Mysore district

 

Habitat- garden/ urban/wild/type:

Wild, Near Irrigation channel

 

Plant Habit-tree/shrub/climber/herb:

Shrub

 

Height/length:

Height - about  2 feet approx

 

Leaves-type/shape/size:

Alternate, ~Elliptic5cms

 

Inflorescence type /size:

-

 

Flowers-size/colour/calyx/bracts:

Blue, 


 

Fruits type-shape/size/seeds:

 

5cms approx, color-Green,  

Fragrance/odour/pollinator/uses  and so on

Dear Raghu ji,
Kaadu avare  is the Kannada name for Canavalia ensiformis DC. [Leguminosae] commonly known as  Horse Bean. ,Sword Bean.

Sir,

This plant closely relates to crotalaria verrucosa L,
However,  earlier discussion threads on  Crotalaria Verrucosa in eflora indicates them to be a  coastal plant/ Common in coastal plant.
In fact, this plant is found in rural Mysore, quite  common..
