I am forwarding herewith the photographs of Divi-divi plant - Caesalpinia coriaria . Photographed on 27th Sept 2022 in CSIR-CFTRI campus, Mysore. This is a rare plant in this part of the region.
This is one of the tanniferous plants used in the tanning industry. I am familiar with this plant as I started my R&D career with tanniferous plants (phytochemical studies). The fruits contain hydrolyasable tannins & used for tanning hides & skins using traditional (herbal) methods.
