I think it may be same as plant uploaded by me from Delhi two days back as Gamochaeta pensylvanica (syn: Gnaphalium pensylvanicum; G. purpureum auct.)

Yes Sir i have seen your photo out here as well as in the flower of India site...... its the same plant Gamochaeta pensylvanica .

Foliage, buds look very much like an introduced thistle species that is weedy in California, USA. Does the old head become armed as it matures?

Will try to find name of the local species.
