It is   Prunus cornuta ---Himalyan Bird cherry. The fruit is edible and used as rootstock for cherry.  A related spp. of importance    is  Prunus napaulensis   native to the eastern foothills of the Himalayas, including Nepal, Myanmar and China. It is  known as Sohiong and fruit is edible and made into jam, jellies etc. Both are underutilised  fruit crops  and need to develop as fruit crops.    I shall appreciate if  Mr. Saroj ji if you can send more close  up of  fruit , shoot and leaf for confirmation .  Regards and Thanks......prof. suneel
