Dear All,
This plant is named as a shrimp plant by the Nursery in Jabalpur.
May I req. t help me in proper ID of this plant.

Date/Time-   27 July 10

Location- Place, Altitude, GPS- Bandhavgarh

Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type-  Garden

Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb-  Shrub

Height/Length-  20 inches

Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size-

Inflorescence Type/ Size-

Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts-  Yellowish

Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds-

Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.-

Could this be Pachystachys species may be lutea (ACANTHACEAE).

Justicia brandegeana lutea is also the call from me !!
Seen this plant as in couple of gardens !!

I think Mr. Gavade is right, Pachystachys lutea has longer leaves and
yellow bracts. This is called Golden Shrimp Plant. I imagine why they
called it 'SHRIMP'.
