Hi..Pramilaji/Jmgargji,

Gloriosa Superba is state flower of Tamilnadu also National flower of Jimbabwe, in Iindia according to state wise it is called in different names like"Agnishikha"  "Kalihari".
In java & Indonasia it is called as Malabar Glory lilyand Kembang telang. One of the highly demanded and costly species to the pharma industry, also commercially imperative medicinal plant with diverse medicianl application. Due to over exploitation this plant is facing local extinction in my distrcit(Uttarkannada) . To meet the ever increasing demand from the Pharma industry , My friend from Karwar Mr. M.R.Shetty dedicatly invovlved himself in conservation & production of rare and endangered medicinal plant like G.superba with many medicinal plant in around 60 acres of  land in Ankola Distrcit Uttarkannada. Hope this information is of much useful to members of indiantreepix group. Many more information narrated in my article in weekly magzine "SUDHA" dECCAN hERALD GROUP having more than 3.5 Lakh circulation as token love to all the plant and nature lovers on the eve of  Gowri Ganesh Festival. Pl see the attachments.

Thank you for the information.
This particular tuber species has been now successively cultivated in vast area for export and local pharma purposes in districts of Madurai and Dindugal of Tamil nadu; hence the collection from wild is mitigated.

Gloriosa superba is indeed a beautiful plant and I think it is poisonous also. It is nice to know its various name and why these names are given that it is a medicinal plant. And the most important information about its conservation. All this is possible in a group like Indiantreepix.
But the writeup you sent I cannot read. As Nalini ji said if its english translation is avialable all of us can read it.
