It is learned from "The Plant list" site that Costus speciosus is a synonym of Cheilocostus speciosus (J.König) C.Specht (http:// www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/kew-343835) of Costaceae family. Lots of shuffling is happening. Hope this would be the end of most of the confusions, or I dont know it would lead more.....

In Kerala this species has started flowering 2 weeks back itself.
