There are two species commonly found in Maharashtra & adjoining region and they becomes distinguish by using the below characters as shown in key

1. Branches spine tipped; female flowers solitary or 2-3 per glomerules .................. S. leucopyrus

1. Branches without spine tipped; female flowers 3-10 per glomerules .….................…… S. virosa

ID is doubtful, as the fruits of this species  are white and appear in bunches .  Even the  pictures when compared to those in flowersofindia.net  differ.  Need to wait till the fully formed photographs of fruits are  posted.
