Am posting images of a plant which I believe is C.album. It was growing on the edge of a lawn in Rawathpora Srinagar
Habitat : wild
Habit herb , about 90 cm high. leaves and stem covered by fine white hair like appendages giving it a velvety feel (See close up photos), These are very dense on bracts and inflorescences. Flowers 2mm dia with 5 tepals .They are gamotepalous ,green on inside with white margins( See photo). Stamens 5, project about 1mm beyond tepals.
Locals do not eat it but migrant laborers consider its leaves as an excellent vegetable.
