Palmyra/ Toddy Palm/ Tad (Borassus flabillifer)

All pictures taken at Kolkata & Purbasthali over a period of time. I have been seeing Black Kites (Milvus migrans) for many years making their nest on this tree. Asian Palm Swifts (Cypsiurus balasiensis) along with Baya Weavers (ploceus philippinus) also make their nest on this tree. It's sap is fermented to make country liquor called 'Toddy'.
