Cucumber ID

Recently I got a small oval pale green cucumber from Wayanad. It looked very much like a Chow-chow/ Chayote without the ridges but tasted like cucumber and had similar seeds. Unfortunately in my hurry to taste it I neglected to take a picture and I had just the one!

 I did find a picture which is similar but am not posting it since it's not my own. It can be viewed here 

The name given is Cucumis Sativus. I would like to know if this is correct and if there are any local names.

I think two cucurbits are mixed in the photograph. The fruits do belong to said plant but the flowers on the left belong to Cucurbita sp.

Thank you.Hope to get a picture to post here the next time I'm in Wayanad. None of the pictures in the links look exactly like the one I got.
