Growing on a rock face near a perennial stream. No figs seen. 
Could it be ficus microcarpa ?

Gadasi,  Chinese banyan, laurel fig, बेलिया पीपल, फाँस, नांद्रुक |  Scientific name Ficus microcarpa.

In his book Jungle Trees of Central India Pradip Krishen shares some fascinating details about this species. Sharing a few:

"No other tree in our jungles compares with gadasi for its exceptional ability to grow and prosper on bare, impossible rock." 

"You are most likely to encounter gadasi growing in rocky ravines with water not too far below." Pradip also adds that its aerial roots are poorly developed as compared to the banyan's.
