The two species are differentiated not only by flower colour but also stigmas and styles:

Flowers yellow; stigma shallowly dissected; style absent in fruit Argemone mexicana
+ Flowers white turning pale-yellowish with age; stigma deeply dissected; style 1-2 mm long in fruit Argemone ochroleuca

Observe flower colour and deeply dissected stigmas, clearly point to A. ochroleuca
