other than these leaves
what are the distinguishing features
from other Salvadora species?

I think we have two species of Salvadora in Flora of India - oleoides and persica.... recently (2012) a third one S. alli recorded in central India.

Among the two ( oleoides and persica ), I think their canopies give us fair hint of their identity.
The former has dropping branches, and seemingly denser foliage.
As per local names, oleoides has "large" and "sweet" attached to its names - large toothbrush tree / મીઠીજાર / મીઠી જાળ / મોટી પીલુ / बड़ा पीलू / મિઠેપીલુજો ઝાર / મિઠી જાર / गोडपिलु / ਮਿੱਠਾ ਵਣ / मीठी जाल / महापीलु

I have attached a small image of S. oleoides, I realize I have not taken any long shot of S. persica.

https://groups.google.com/d/msg/indiantreepix/F5bLV--EID8/r2R8ZWbXAAAJ - Prashant's post - shows mix of drooping at lower part, otherwise at top.

Regards.
Dinesh
