Binomial name : Oxalis tetraphylla Cav.

Local Habitat: Evergreen and Shola forests
Place of photographed :The Nilgiris, Tamilnadu 


Stem less, perennial herb from an ovoid bulb, without rhizomes or stolons. Leaves radical, 4-6 per plant. Flowers  2.5 cm wide; pedicels to 3 cm, sepals 5, ovate-acute 8x3 mm. petals 5, rose to brick red. Stamens 5+5; ovary elliposoid, 5x3 mm. styles 5, thrice as long as ovary; ovules 3-5 per cell
