Hi

This tree I saw in Mizoram, near Aizawl in the month of Nov.2008. It interested me because of the back to back fruits.

No doubt it is Parkia species.   In all probabilities it might be P.biglandulosa.   To confirm the identification check for the glands( biglandular) at the base of the leaves.  If the leaves possess the glands it is P. glandulosa.  Otherwise it may be P.roxburghii or  other species of Parkia.

Dear Thiru,
Your tree is Parkia roxburghii. This tree yields edible beans which is a delicacy in northeast particularly Manipur hence the name Manipuri urohi.
You may check Flssam.
