Dear Mr. Garg,

I get some confusion here .

Boehmeria macrophylla Hornem. is not listed in Nepal but Boehmeria macrophylla D. Don.,
and its  synonym Boehmeria ternifolia D. Don  is listed in Nepal.
So Hornem or D.Don ?

And in efi site also Boehmeria platyphylla D. Don is given as illegitimate synonym which
according to POWO synonym to Boehmeria virgata var. macrostachya (Wight) Friis & Wilmot-Dear.

Does entry in efi site need some review?

Thank you.

I will look into it as earlier efi site was based on The plant list, which was in turn based on WCSP, which is still under review.

As per checklist of Nepal, you have
Boehmeria macrophylla D. Don syn. of Boehmeria penduliflora Weddell ex D. G. Long , but does not match as per illustration at

You also have Boehmeria platyphylla var. platyphylla D. Don syn. of Boehmeria macrophylla var. macrophylla and matches as per illustration at

You also have Boehmeria platyphylla var. canescens Wedd. which is a syn. of Boehmeria macrophylla var. canescens (Weddell) D. G. Long

On further checking in Flora of Bhutan (1200- 2500 m.) and in Flora of China, I think it is more closer to Boehmeria polystachya Weddell as per

It appears to be similar to your other thread at SK958 25 JAN-2018

Looks matching but there is difference of more than 2000 ft in case of the
sp. from Kathmandu and 4000 in case of sp. from Pokhara.

Thank you.

As elevations given in Checklist of Nepal are not correct, I request you to pl. check Flora of Bhutan also in future, where ever you feel it is not matching.

There is another closely related species (with distribution in Nepal also as per Catalogue of life) as per keys in Flora of China:
7 (6)Leaf blade elliptic ovate, apex acuminate; flowering shoots with irregular second order branching; achene base narrowly cuneate. 20 B. polystachya
+Leaf blade ovate-orbicular to suborbicular, apex abruptly caudate; flowering shoots with simple, spikelike branches only; achene base rounded. 21 B. conica

On checking with keys (though apex and shape of the leaves, compared to your other post, made me lean towards B. conica for some time) and high resolution specimens of Boehmeria conica C.J.Chen, Wilmot-Dear & Friis at GBIF, I think it is Boehmeria polystachya Weddell only.
