I need to attach a photograph of a tree photographed by Dr. Ashok
Kothari of BNHS/Friends of Trees/etc. of Mumbai which he needs
identification for.

The general impression one gets from the picture is that it looks like the Persian Lilac (Melia azedarach)
or Bakain. If, as the caption says, this was shot in Paro, Bhutan, it would probably be alien to the region. I have found it to be a quick-growing, invasive, though comparatively short-lived species, generally spread through bird droppings. The fruit is prized by hornbills, bulbuls, Chloropsis, etc.
