Respected members,

Here's a new grass species addition to site.

Microstegium vimineum
Common Name - Nepalese Browntop/Japanese Stiltgrass
Family - Poaceae

The species can be easily recognised by having leaves with silver midrib and no waviness.

Habitat - Found in shady moist conditions along brooklet under Bamboo canopy.
Photographed at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh
In October 2019

Best regards

This is Microstegium ciliatum
Microstegium vimineum usually has solitary racemes and sometimes with a brach.

Thanks Manoj ji for correcting.

Garg ji,
As per gbif Microstegium ciliatum is synonym of Microstegium fasciculatum

Moreover FOC also mentioned that both species are closely related and even difficult to distinguish at least in herbarium.
Here's the link

So i think for now following gbif we should merge the Microstegium ciliatum page into Microstegium fasciculatum...

Best regards
