IDENTIFY THIS PLANT.

Hi,

 

I photogrpahed this plant on 7th January,2006.

 

Location: Dried area adjacent to the Jheel near Ballavpur Deer Park, Santiniketan, West Bengal. Actually I was there to photograph migratory birds. But as I tried to approach nearer to get a better position to photograph the birds, I saw this red coloured  plant. The colour of the plant was very attractive but at that time I had no idea that it was a carnivorous plant.

 

Flowers: Could not get better picture of flower (sorry).  

 

Is it Droserra burmannii? Kindly confirm.

 

Interested to know about this carnivorous plant.

your identification is right----it is Drosera burmannii Vahl.
--------It's vernacular name is Sun Dew ( Surya Shishir ) & Mukha-
jali .
